The 6th International Specialized Exhibition Wooden Construction
took place within the framework of the 11th International Forestry Forum
on October 6-9, 2009, in Saint-Petersburg.
Organizer: RESTEC® Exhibition Company.
During the opening ceremony the Exhibition participants and visitors were
welcomed by: Serguei Shtrakhov, Head of Forestry Department for the North-Western
Federal District; Aleksander Stepchenko, Head of Committee for Natural
Resources of Leningrad oblast; Vladimir Onegin, Professor of St.Petersburg
State Forest Technical Academy named after Kirov, Doctor of Engineering,
Honourary President, Russian Academy of Natural Science academician; Dmitriy
Ivanov, Director General of Weinig North-West company, Serguei Trofimov,
President of RESTEC® Group. In their speeches they emphasised the
special meaning of holding a professional event dedicated to wooden construction
at a high level under the existing economic conditions.
The following companies presented modern building constructions, technologies,
lumber, ready projects at the Exhibition: Viceroyhomes Distribution –
the world leader of production of wooden framed buildings; Kontio –
the leading producer of wooden houses; Livingwood company specialised
in design, production and construction of country houses and cottages
of LVL and with frame-panel technology; Puschinsky Dom – the leading
company in the field of houses construction of half timber and hand cut
round logs; Status Saint-Petersburg – the supplier of high quality
needle wood and many others. Engineering systems for wooden housing construction
were presented by Sviv Group of Companies and Eco-System company. Professional
technologies and materials for wooden buildings protection, isolation
materials were offered by EC Trade House, Vilana, Isotek NPO. Everyone
willing could learn about the wide range of insurance services at the
stand of Kit-Finance Insurance company.
Over 3,500 experts from 58 regions of Russia and 12 countries visited
the Exhibition.
I.Z.B.A. – Infrastructure. Zone of Housing and Communal Services.
Building. Architecture round table meeting devoted to issues of wooden
construction took place for the first time within the business programme
framework. The round table discussion subject: Wooden share – wooden
housing construction share in the structure of modern country housing
market. In the course of work the main trends in the production of wooden
components for housing construction, their influence on the development
of wooden housing construction and its competitiveness in Russia, the
state of land market of Leningrad oblast – withdrawal of unused
plots, work for allotment of free plots for individual housing construction,
introduction of special regime for agricultural lands and influence of
these measures on the development of individual construction were discussed.
The round table program contained issues of investments attraction to
the economy of the Leningrad oblast through creation of new job places
and tax revenues sources, the role of engineering and transport infrastructure
in mastering mew areas for housing construction, the share of individual
housing construction in the total volume of houses under construction,
program of the Leningrad Oblast for low rise construction development
and transfer of forest lands to the lands of other categories, including
lands of settlements. The reports of Svyatoslav Bychkov, Director for
new projects of Ilim Timber Industry, and Kristopher Shmidt, Director
General of MM-Efimovsky (LSR Group) devoted to marketing and price policies
of the companies provoked great interest of the auditory.
The Matchmaking Center worked during all the Exhibition working days.
87 meetings participated by over 30 companies were held within the framework
of the Matchmaking Center. Delegations from the Russian oblasts and regions
were proposed different variants of participation in the Center: organisation
of negotiations under individual schedule and holding personal consultations
with the leading experts.
Wooden Construction Exhibition was held jointly with the exhibitions Tekhnodrev,
Transles, Regions of Russia.Forestry Potential, IFEP – St. Petersburg
Furniture Salon within the framework of St. Petersburg International Forestry
Forum.
The 7th International Specialized Exhibition Wooden Construction will
take place on October 19 to 21, 2010 in St. Petersburg.

In the period of 7-10 October 2008 a significant event
for specialists of the wooden constuction market and for those who wish
to purchase or build a wooden house took place in St.Petersburg at the
Lenexpo Fairgrounds. 5th International Specialized Exhibition Wooden
Construction organized by RESTEC exhibition company took place with
the support of Russsian Federation Presidential Administration, Ministry
of Industry and Trade of Russian Federation, Ministry of Economic Development,
Government of St. Petersburg and leading branch associations and unions.
At the opening of the exhibition participants and guests were greeted
by Lukyanov E.V., Vice Plenipotentiary Representative of the President
of Russian Federation in North-West federal district,šKomarova N.
V., the Chairman of the State Parliament Natural Resources Committee of
the Federal Assembly of Russian Federation, Pozgalyov V. E., the
Governor of the Vologodskaya area, Ivanov V.F., Sodruzhestvo ZAO CEO,
and the President of RESTEC group Trofimov S. N. They emphasized
the relevance of the event, pointed out the high rates of wooden construction
development and high potential of current market. It was also mentioned
that the situation on the market of wooden construction had significantly
changed for the last 4 years: country house had become an essential
part of the life of modern people, consumer preferences had been specified,
companies providing full range of services in the field of wooden construction
had appeared on the market. And the government follow current trends:
the general plan of St. Petersburg is based on the concept of an
"open European City" which is focused on the western standards
of urban environment.
According the existing tradition the following leading wooden construction
companies took part in the exhibition: HONKA, "House-Concept "Sodruzhestvo",
HONKATALOT, KONTIO, "Roshinskiy Dom", construction company RUS,
trading company TIMBER PRODUCT, HouseHall group, SpetsEcoStroy, "Karkasniy
Dom", and others. The following companies participated for the first
time: KIILTO-KLEY ZAO, which presented production in the field of construction,
finishing works and all-purpose adhesives, Viceroy Homes Distribution,
the exclusive representative of the Canadian company Viceroy Homes in
Russia and CIS, and the German company ProEcoTec, offering new technologies
in the field of constructions, which allow to reduce the timešof commissioning
of facilities.
The company "HAUS-KONZEPT" Sodruzhestvo", which regularly
presented its production at the WOODEN CONSTRUCTION Exhibition, became
the general partner of the event this year. The products of the plant
were demonstrated on the show, pre-fabricated frame-panel cottage type
houses, made of full-readiness factorial elements which have been produced
by "HAUS-KONZEPT" Sodruzhestvo" since 2005 and new
products of high-leveled wood processing: laminated veneer lumber houses
and long span laminated structures (LSLS).
Finnish HONKA group offered its customers the full range of services connected
with the construction of wooden country houses, starting with individual
designing and finishing with postproduction quality service.
Construction Company RUS introduced to the visitors with various projects
of wooden houses, which were constructed with the help of both traditional
and new construction technologies (laminated veneer lumber, frame-panel
construction and log houses technologies).
Trade Company "Timber Product" demonstrated key-ready cottages
and country houses. The advantages of this configuration are commodity
and saving the customer's time. Except constructing houses from dry rounded
logs laminated veneer lumber was demonstrated. Houses built of this material
are distinctive due to their contemporary European style.
NPO "VILANA" demonstrated the full range of paintwork materials,
modern technologies of painting wooden houses.
Company Cadwork, leader in the field of constructing wooden house with
the help of 3D-CAD/CAM programs, participated with the newly-designed
IT products. Also the company NOVIE TEHNOLOGII, specially for cottage
construction, demonstrated to the specialists tools functioning stand-alone:
gas plug-driving guns for carpentry, plumbing and finishing works produced
by a French enterprise SPLIT and a new revolutionary lithium-ion technology
of an American company Milwaukee, which is applied to high-power tools
able to function in severe weather conditions.
It was for the first time when the ceremony of prize DRIADA awarding the
winners of the contest The Best Innovative Project in the Field of Wooden
Construction. The prize-winner was the company "HAUS-KONZEPT"
Sodruzhestvo" with it's engineering and producingšlaminated veneer
lumber constructions.
By the Second Prize diploma was awarded the "Tekhnopark-LTA"
for the innovative project Wood Thermal Sulfate Side Product of Papermaking
(Tall Oil) Processing. Company HONKA, world leader in the field of wooden
construction was awarded by a special prize "For Special Contribution
to Development and Popularization of Wooden Construction". PRIGOROD
Magazine, official media partner of the contest was awarded by diploma
"For Special Contribution to Development and Popularization of Wooden
Construction".
Conference "Wooden House Construction", seminars, round table
talks and presentations took place within the framework of the business
program.
The media support of the event was given by leading titles highlighting
the problems of wooden construction, designing, projecting and furnishing
country houses. They are Cottage Kollektsiya, Zagorodnoye Obozreniye,

On October 9-12, 2007 the 4th International Specialized
Exhibition "WOODEN CONSTRUCTION" was held in St. Petersburg
within the framework of the INTERNATIONAL FORESTRY FORUM. The Exhibition
was organized by RESTEC Exhibition Company
Wooden houses, technologies for wooden house construction, design and
architectural engineering, wood protection products, windows, doors, elements
of interior and external design engineering systems and equipment were
showcased at the Exhibition.
Participation of some companies has become a good tradition, namely Honka,
"Rus" Building Company, PORSA LLC, Roshinsky Dom LLC, Voukatti
Rus LLC, TRADE COMPANY "TIMBER PRODUCT", ROVANIEMI. Real wooden
houses from Lapland etc. Other companies participated in the exhibition
for the first time, such as Austrian Company KLH MASSIVHOLZ GmbH (its
the representative in St. Petersburg is BumTehno CJSC), the manufacturer
of panels from solid wood for fast construction of any types of buildings,
Karkasnyj Dom Company (Frame House) that constructs houses using Canadian
technology MiTek, and Russian holding WoodWay Group - the leader in production
of ecological products based on advanced processing of wood.
This year the Exhibition attracted attention of more then 14, 000 people.
All the visitors were surprised with a variety of technologies used for
wooden house construction.
Finnish concern HONKA, which has already twice become the General partner
of the Wooden Construction Exhibition offered its clients a wide choice
of services connected with wooden house construction, raging from individual
project engineering to guarantee maintenance of completed projects. HONKA
uses the best raw materials and most advanced technologies for wood protection.
The PORSA Company showcased ecologically clean quality houses made of
Karelian wood with high insulation, VUOKATTI RUS exhibited houses produced
of Finnish LVL. HOUSE -KONZEPT "Sodruzhestvo" demonstrated the
capacities of a factory producing pre-fabricated panel frames cottage-houses.
The open air exhibition of this company which demonstrated of long-span
glued structures up to 30 meters attracted attention of the visitors by
its unusual design. Construction Company "RUS" that has been
working on country houses construction market for more than 10 years,
showed three types of technologies in wooden house construction: LVL houses,
panel houses and larch log houses.
VILLANA CJSC demonstrated the full spectrum of paint and varnish materials
of Finnish concern TEKNOS, as well as modern European wooden houses painting
technologies. Tikkurila Coatings CJSC, being official affiliated company
of Tikkurila Coatings OY in Russia, also presented tools and materials
for wood fashioning. Denker Company known for its heating systems demonstrated
to the visitors of the Exhibition Best Board, a modern housing heating
system, and emphasized its efficiency for country wooden housing construction.
Within the framework business international program of International Forestry
Forum. a conference "Wooden housing construction as one of components
in realization of the national priority project "Affordable and Comfortable
Housing for Citizens of Russia " was held. It was moderated by V.V.Gandel,
executive director of the Russian Association of Glulam Producers and
Customers. Such questions as development and realization of the national
program of low-rise housing construction, unique opportunities and problems
of wooden house construction, new technologies in wooden house construction
and many others were discussed at the Conference.

engineering and country house landscaping provided information support
