Results 2009
The previous 10th Jubilee International Exhibition ROADS. BRIDGES. TUNNELS was held in Mikhailovsky Manege on September 23-25, 2009 by order of St. Petersburg Government and under the support of St. Petersburg Committee for Territorial Improvement and Road Facilities, Leningrad Oblast Committee for Road Facilities and Transport, the Dormost Association and International Transport Academy.
The official opening ceremony was attended by Oleg Virolainen, Chairman of the St. Petersburg Committee for Territorial Improvement and Road Facilities, Sergey Nechaev, Chairman Assistant of the Leningrad Oblast Committee for Road Facilities and Transport, Kirill Ivanov, Director of the Dormost Association, Yuriy Agafonov, Director of Non-commercial partnership Self-regulating regional association of road construction enterprises of the Russian North-West. Guests congratulated on the exhibition jubilee and noticed the ROADS. BRIDGES. TUNNELS exhibition is a traditional meeting place for the industry experts, and a site for the industry current issues discussion, business relations establishment and cooperation support.
Despite the complicated economic situation in the state, the exhibition confirms its status of the most significant transport construction event in the North-West of Russia. Expositions of the latest machines and technologies, advanced materials and equipment were provided by over 100 companies from Russian regions: St. Petersburg and Moscow, Tomsk, Samara, Saratov, Ulan-Ude, Voronezh, Yaroslavl, Perm, Kurgan, Vladimir and Tula regions, companies from Belarus, Ukraine, Germany and Finland.
The industry producers and suppliers exhibited their road construction machines, road and bridge barriers and metal structures, steel reinforcement and formwork, tools for road works and tunnel construction, non woven materials, quality control equipment and construction monitoring, concrete mixing equipment, asphalt concrete plants and other. At the exhibition one could also meet representatives providing the following services: geo diagnostics, engineering structures design, engineering systems and communications, various transport facilities construction, hydro insulation and draining, lighting, works automation.
The Dormost Association organised a collective stand of St. Petersburg leading road and bridge construction enterprises, such as Institute Strojproect JSC, Lendorstroy-2 CJSC, Pylon CJSC, Mostootryad-19 JSC and many others.
2,000 industry specialists visited the exhibition were presented developments that proves the industry vitality and sustainable development: new types of barriers (Transbarrier LLC), new versions of software for infrastructure facilities design and geotechnical calculations (NIP-Informatika LLC), polymer coatings for draw spans (Medisa LLC), new generation of materials for cement repair using nanotechnologies (BaltMonolitStroy LLC), innovative surface coatings (Research and production company FUELEC LLC), etc.. There were shown urban infrastructure facilities that are under construction and those have been recently built on the projects of St. Petersburg state unitary enterprise Lengiproengproject, a presentation of three bridges over the Volga river.
A part of the exposition was devoted to foreign achievements, including for example German hydraulic manipulator (DVMA GmbH), American equipment for repairing holes in asphalt road coating (IDT-Invest LLC), Berusian platform for bridges repair (Bluming LLC).
The outdoor site featured over 30 Russian and foreign machines, including front loaders, mini excavators, truck mounted hydraulic lifts, asphalt and concrete floor saws, plate compactors of different weights, compressor equipment, diesel generators and many others. RosComTrans plant of commercial transport from Balahna city (Nizhny Novgorod region) presented a unique car Road master which combines four cars of different purposes - a car for teams of workers transportation, a sided truck, a truck equipped with a crane-manipulating device and a truck mounted hydraulic lift.
The 5th International Forum World of Bridges held concurrently with the exhibition was organised jointly with the Dormost Association. The event was participated by representatives of the city administration, heads of the industry associations, representatives of over 80 companies from Russian cities, Italian, German and Finish delegations.
Over 300 participants gathered to change their practice of work in the present economic conditions, tell about technical and technological achievements, present new projects, define the development trends of bridge construction industry. The issues of cooperation between professional community and governmental agencies aimed at searching for the most effective tools for the industry potential cultivation and preservation were raised at the Forum.
The Forum also featured reports concerning the industry personnel training quality, Russian bridge construction industry development in the context of the crisis, building and mounting risks insurance and early warning system, as well as specific technical questions, such as: works monitoring, lighting methods, work capacity of expansion joints and supporting parts, seismological and acoustic diagnostics, energy efficiency.
Traditionally the second day of the Forum included a technical tour. Participants visited sea passenger port of St. Petersburg, met construction plans of Western High Speed Diameter, Primorsk transport hub, saw renovated Lazarevsky Bridge.
In 2007 the trade show featured participation by over
140 companies and organizations from various Russian regions, such as
St. Petersburg and Moscow, Chelyabinsk, Saratov, Yekaterinburg, Tula,
Cheboksary, Petrozavodsk, Pereslavl-Zaleski, Kurgan as well as companies
from the United Kingdom, Korea and Canada. The exhibitors were mainly
manufacturers and suppliers of road machinery and construction materials
for highways, bridges and tunnels, large developers and leading road construction
companies.
From year to year the number of exhibitors increases and the event attracts
more interest of both Russian and international companies.
The outstanding feature of the show is its unique outdoor venue which
presents an open-air exposition of special machines in the heart of the
city (Manezhnaya Square). Loading machines, excavators, hydraulic hammers
and other Russian and foreign machinery are displayed at the outdoor exposition.
