On September 29 – October 1, 2010 Mikhailovsky Manege (Winter Stadium) hosted the 11th ROADS. BRIDGES. TUNNELS international exhibition.
The exhibition is organised by the order of St. Petersburg Government and is held with the support of St. Petersburg Transport Infrastructure Development Committee, DORMOST Association and International Transport Academy.
Boris Murashev, Chairman of St. Petersburg Transport Infrastructure Committee and Kirill Ivanov, Director of DORMOST Association were present at the official opening ceremony. The guests welcomed visitors and exhibitors, and noted that the ROADS. BRIDGES. TUNNELS exhibition is a traditional meeting place for the industry professionals, a site to display the industry current situation, introduce innovation, as well as establish and strengthen business networking.
Over 100 companies exhibited the latest machinery and technology, advanced materials and equipment there. The companies have represented various Russian regions, such as St. Petersburg and Moscow, Sochi, Tomsk, Magnitogorsk, Vologda, Tula, Krasnodar and many others. Among our exhibitors there were companies from Belarus, Ukraine, Denmark and Switzerland.
The products were exhibited by producers and suppliers of road construction machinery, road and bridge barriers and metal structures, reinforcing steel and formwork, construction tools, nonwoven fabrics, quality controlling and monitoring equipment, mixing machines, asphalt concrete manufacturing plants and others. At the exhibition one could also meet companies providing services in geotechnical analysis, engineering design, systems and communications, transport facilities construction, waterproofing and water removing services, lighting, automation etc.
This year our exhibitors demonstrated a wide variety of geosynthetic materials, including a new manufacture of geogrids “Geospan ORP” by Geksa-North-West trading house, innovative geogrids made of primary polypropylene by Sibur Holding OJSC, products of the Volzhsky Plant of Asbestos Technical Items ("VATI") OJSC, Promkompozit research and manufacturing company, Slavros research and manufacturing company and others.
The DORMOST Association presented a collective stand of the leading road and bridge construction enterprises of St. Petersburg, among them Vozrozhdeniye manufacturing company, Dorozhnik 92 LLC, Dorservis Group, Pylon LLC, Mostostroy №6 JSC and others.
2,000 trade visitors attended the exhibition were demonstrated advanced developments which prove vitality and development of the tunneling construction industry: advanced technologies of tunnels construction using microtunnels, design of multifunctional underground facilities and multilevel road junctions by Mosinzhproject OJSC, a showcase of new construction projects of the Olympic Games facilities and a film about new methods of tunnel piercing at the stand of Tunneldorstroy LLC.
The ROADS. BRIDGES. TUNNELS exposition this year has traditionally demonstrated some novelties. MAGEBA demonstrated technologies for bridges and building earthquake protection and the last generation control joints. PENOPLEX HOLDING exhibited advanced technologies for construction of bridges approaches and thin insulating covers using materials of its own manufacture. Armaks, a plant of construction structures exhibited acoustic sandwich panels for sound screens, Dorozhnik 92 LLC – technologies of laying asphalt using microasphalt technology. Moreover, the exposition demonstrated: a new product of Severstal-Metiz JSC – the system of profiles for tongue-and-groove interlocks production, new versions of programs for compound geotechnical calculations for road and transport construction by NIP-Informatika LLC, information-evaluating system for outdoor lighting control using GSM channel by Svetoservis LLC, etc.
Over 30 machines were demonstrated open air by Russian and international companies. Special public attention was given to new snow clearing equipment and a new tractor TERRION by PKF SDM LLV and next generation road construction and repair machines by Best Technik LLC.
The exhibition includes business events, such as round table meetings on current issues of the industry. Among our participants there were representatives of St. Petersburg Administration, heads of the industry government committees and associations, representatives of over 60 companies from Russian cities and regions.
The round table program included reports dedicated to public-private partnership and self-regulation, transport infrastructure supply technologies. Discussions on applied issues, such as lighting automation, machinery and technology for repair and maintenance of road covers, safety of works, human resources management and many others, draw much attention.
Events of this year, being traditionally timed to the Day of Road Infrastructure Worker, one more time displayed that whatever your interest in the industry is, you could find all the necessary at the ROADS. BRIDGES. TUNNELS exhibition!
The next ROADS.BRIDGES.TUNNELS exhibition will take place on September 21–23, 2011.
