The 2nd Specialized Exhibition of Transport Construction
and Infrastructure TransCon was held at EXPOCENTR Fairgrounds with
the support of the International Transport Academy and the Ministry of
Transportation of the Russian Federation on March 18-20, 2009.
Over the three days of active work, participants and visitors of the exhibition
managed to get a complete insight into the status of the transport construction
industry, its current challenges and prospects for its development in
a rapidly changing domestic and global economic situation. The exhibition
was attended by over 3000 transportation industry experts.
The stand of the Moscow Government, representing the latest Moscow transport
infrastructure development projects by the Department of Road and Bridge
Engineering, became the core part of the exhibition.
The exhibition also included the stands of companies specializing in the
production of road construction equipment (OOO "STD "Rotor"),
the construction of hydraulic structures (OOO "Trest Zapsibgidrostroy"),
carrying out road construction works (OAO "Mostostroy 6"), the
development of software and integrated solutions for industrial automation
(OOO "NIP -Informatika"), the design and manufacture of metal
structures for road construction (OOO "Transbaryer") and much
more.
The exhibition opening ceremony that took place on March 18 was attended
by representatives of the leading industry organisations. Opening addresses
were made by: Head of the Office for the Coordination of Road and Bridge
Construction of the Department of Road and Bridge Engineering of Moscow
V.N. Fedoseyev, Vice-President of the International Transport Academy
V.A. Dosenko, Vice President - Manager of the Chamber of Commerce and
Industry of the Russian Federation I.I. Gorelovsky, President of the RESTECT
S.N. Trofimov, and others. Greetings from the Minister of Transport of
the Russian Federation I.E. Levitin and Head of the Department of Road
and Bridge Engineering of Moscow A.N. Levchenko were read out.
The exhibition included the "Transport Congress - 2009: the development
of transport infrastructure". Participants of the Congress and of
its Conference "Development of transport infrastructure of megapolises"
discussed advanced methods of transport infrastructure construction management,
specific features of its design, repair and reconstruction. There were
presented reports made by representatives of the Department of Road and
Bridge Engineering of Moscow, the Tunnel Association of Russia, the International
Transport Academy and many other leading companies in the industry. The
reports referred to the issues of legislative support for the development
of the transport sector, quality control in the implementation of transport
projects, optimization of underground multipurpose complexes design and
many others.
In his statement for the participants of the events I.E. Levitin noted:
"... the holding of a single set of transport exhibitions and the
Transport Congress - 2009 will enable representatives of government agencies,
scientific organisations, managers and leading specialists of the industry
in Russia and abroad to once again analyze and assess the market conditions,
share experiences, discuss pressing problems and prospects. These events
shall be supported and given special attention to as they not only contribute
to the development of the transport industry of our country, but also
strengthen partnerships".
