3 years work report
Main goal of the woodworking network establishing is
to contribute to the process of the industry improvement and modernization,
to develop interregional connections, to create an integrated forestry complex
community of suppliers and consumers.
Main aim of TEKHNODREV Network is to promote state-of-the-art technologies
and innovations for logging, woodworking and furniture industries in the Russian
forest industry market.
The International Specialized Exhibition TEKHNODREV being annually held
in St. Petersburg within the framework of the International Forestry Forum:
Forestry Complex of Russia in the 21st Century has made a base of the Network
Project establishing. For the 10 years of work we have advanced all the technologies
of organizing a congress exhibition event which could cover a full package of
complex services to promote the event's participants.
The Woodworking/TEKHNODREV Exhibition (lately named as TEKHNODREV Ural. Volga
2005) which had been successfully held in June 2005 in Perm became a pilot
project of the TEKHNODREV Network Pilot Project.
Every project within the TEKHNODREV Network, being an integrated part of the
all-Russian Network of Woodworking Exhibitions, covers:
- Common standards for complex advertising and PR campaigns in the leading
industry and business editions.
- Congress program covering industry conferences, round table meetings, workshops
on the forestry complex current issues.
- Business program covering Business Contacts Exchange, the TEKHNODREV Club
and presentations.
Main Profile

The Russian Federation, possessing the 4th of the world forest
reserves, shall take the leading position among world timber-processing goods
suppliers. To implement this goal we should develop regional industry markets
– what is covered in the Exhibition Congress program on forestry complex
according to the international standards.
The leading Russian exhibition operators having combined to establish the all-Russian
Network of Woodworking Exhibitions took part in creating its program. Exhibition
Company RESTEC headed the Network Project.
To implement the network project we have chosen the major centers of the Russian
regions which have economic background (resources, production capacity, personnel,
transport connections) for successful development of forestry complex, where
active investment projects are in process and leading exhibition companies operate.
1. TEKHNODREV Far East
is held in April, in Khabarovsk. The first Exhibition of the Network Project
was held in 2007.
Khabarovsk Kray is a constituent unit of the Russian Federation which is situated
in the Far East of Russian and is a part of the Far Eastern Federal District.
Its total area amounts to 788 600 sq. km. that makes it the 3rd largest constituent
unit of the Russian Federation.
The population – 1 405 000 people.
The administrative center of the Region is Khabarovsk with its population of
578 00 people.
Wood resources area (main wood spices are Dahurian larch, Ajan spruce and Mongolian
oak) takes half of the territory of the Kray.
Significant potential of wood resources as well as unique geographical location
- its proximity to the most actively developing forest products markets of the
Asian-Pacific Region – open new possibilities for the Far East forestry
complex development. The wood resources of Khabarovsk Kray amount to 43% of
the total wood area and 33% of the total timber resources of the Russian federation.
43% of the total forest area and 33% of timber resources of the Russian Federation
belong to the Far East. However, the Far Eastern Federal District possesses
only 2% of the total production capacity on milling in the Russian Federation.
The main objection set by the Government of the Russian Federation to the region
is to provide conditions for environmentally friendly forest utilization, namely
to build timber advanced processing mills for producing paper, wooden boards,
furniture, glued constructions, etc.
The Exhibition is held with the support of the Khabarovsk Kray Ministry for
Economic Development and External Relations, the Ministry for Forestry as well
as the Administration of Khabarovsk.
The main objectives set by the organizers of the Exhibition Khabarovsk International
Fair and RESTEC Exhibition Company are to secure promotion of efficient
technologies, equipment and tools for woodworking sector to the regional market,
to establish new and cement old international and interregional relations, to
bring together manufacturers and potential customers and to encourage production
of competitive high-technology products.
The priority goals for TEKHNODREV Far East are forestry, lodging and primary
woodworking.

2. TEKHNODREV. Ural. Volga Region.
The exhibition is held in Perm in June. The pilot exhibition of the Technodrev
network project took place in 2005. The exhibition originated in 1998.
The Perm Territory is the subject of the Russian Federation being the part of
Volga Federal District.
Population – 3,268,000 people.
Total area – 193,500 square kilometres.
Regional centre – the city of Perm, population 1,260,000 people.
The Perm Territory is situated in the eastern periphery of the Russian Plain
and on the western slope of the Middle and North Ural, at the joint of two parts
of the world – Europe and Asia. The region is like an eastern "outpost"
of Europe, the 99.8 % of which belongs to Europe and only 0.2 % belongs to Asia.
The Perm Territory is one of the most developed regions of Russia. It takes
the leading place in the national industrial production. It plays considerable
role in the process of formation of the federal budget being the part of donor
regions. Significant forest resources of the Perm Territory give the region
the status of one of the leading timber and harvesting bases of Russia. The
companies of pulp and paper industry produce around 20 percent of paper of the
total volume of its production in Russia. The Perm Territory is one of the largest
Russian exporters of newsprint paper.
Transcontinental railway tracks, motor roads and air lines crisscross the Perm
Territory. The Perm Territory has water-way to Northern and Southern Europe,
oil and gas pipelines crossing through it.
By the number of participants and their presentability, offered variety of exhibits,
geography of visitors, the Perm exhibition "Tekhnodrev. Ural. Volga Region"
is the most remarkable exhibition project in the forestry field in Central
Russia.
In 2006 exhibitors represented 20 regions of Russia (including
Voronezh, Ekaterinburg, Izhevsk, Kirov, Moscow, Nizhni Novgorod, Samara, Saint
Petersburg, Tyumen, Chelyabinsk), as well as the companies from Austria, Germany,
Italy, Slovenia, Ukraine. The out-of-town and foreign participants made 70 %
of the total number of participants. Almost one third of exhibitors, including
8 foreign companies, participated in the Perm exhibition for the first
time.
Within the framework of the exhibition "Tekhnodrev. Ural. Volga Region
2006", Perm had the field exposition arranged for the first time.
Facilities, equipment and tools for preparation, transportation and primary

4. Tekhnodrev Siberia
The exhibition takes place in Krasnoyarsk in November and covers the Siberia
Region of the Russian Federation. The first exhibition of the network project
was held in 2007.
The area of the Krasnoyarsk Territory is 2339.7 thousand square kilometres,
or 13.8 % of the whole area of the country. The Krasnoyarsk Territory is located
in Eastern Siberia, in the Yenisei river basin.
The Krasnoyarsk Kray is one of the most "forest" regions of
the Russian Federation. It has 14.5 % of forest area and 2.5 % of world reserves
of forest. In the Krasnoyarsk Territory the lumber industry takes the fifth
place in the structure of industrial production of the territory. The share
of forest industry in the structure of industrial production of the Kray is
3.8 %.
The lumber industry holds one of the leading places in the economy of the Siberia
Federal District, since Siberia contains almost 40 % of forest reserves of Russia.
The concepts and major trends of development of forest industry in the territory
are developed up to 2015.
The population of the Krasnoyarsk Territory is 2,890,300 thousand people. It
makes 2 % of the population of Russia. Density of population is 1.2 persons
in 1 square kilometre.
The political-administrative centre of the Krasnoyarsk Kray is the city of Krasnoyarsk
with population around 1,000,000 people.
The forestry industry of the Siberia Federal District contains all main sub-industries:
lumbering, woodworking, paper and pulp industry, and forest chemistry.
In 2006 the Forest. Woodworking Exhibition took place. 202 companies
