From 4 to 10 October, 2008 the 10th Jubilee International Forestry Forum will take place in St. Petersburg. Presently the Forum presents the only branch event of the federal level, which unites representatives of forestry and forestry complex from 22 countries of the world.

FORUM ORGANIZERS

Plenipotentiary of the RF President in the North-Western Federal District, Federal Forestry Agency under the Russian Ministry for Natural Resources, RESTECT

The branch support to the Forum will be provided by the FAO UN, the Confederation of Associations and Unions of Forest, Pulp and Paper, Woodworking and Furniture Industry, RAO Bumprom as well as leading foreign associations and unions.

The Forum is held under the auspices of the Administration of St. Petersburg and Leningrad Oblast.

The International Forestry Forum 2008 will traditionally introduce the most pivotal topics for discussion within the framework of the congress conference and business program. Best Russian and foreign experts in forest and forest industry sectors of economy take part in the development of the Forum program.

Industry topics presented at the Forum 2008 coincide with the topics of the European Forest-Based Sector Technology Platform.

EVENTS OF THE INTERNATIONAL FORESTRY FORUM 2008

• Plenary Session: Integration of Russia into the world branch community
  
  
• The European Investment Forest Forum within the framework of which the following conferences will take place: The role of forest in climate stabilization: Research-Innovations-Investment-Personnel potential (Organizers: Federal Forestry Agency of the Russian Ministry for Natural Resources, FAO UN, the World Bank, WWF, GEF); Scenarios of the development of Forestry complex up to 2030; Infrastructure of the Forestry complex of Russia. Prospects and areas of development;, and also a round table meeting on Investment into the Forestry complex.
  
  
• Conferences: Forestry (In association with the Federal Forestry Agency of the Russian Ministry for Natural Resources), Wood boards production; Wooden construction; Bioenergy; Marketing in pulp and paper industry (In association with PRIMA).
  
  
• Round table meeting on Qualified personnel for forest industry.
  
  
• Seminar: Wood chemical industry.
  
  
• The IPPTF Forum covering a specialized exhibition and conference on innovative technologies and developments for pulp and paper industry, which will be held with the support of RAO Bumprom (Co-organizer: Adforum αχ).
  
  
• International specialized exhibitions covering the whole cycle of the Forestry complex are an integral part of the Forum: TEKHNODREV, including a specialized section "Primary woodworking", "TRANSLES", "WOODEN CONSTRUCTION", the exhibitions "Forestry of Russia", "Russian regions. The investment potential of the Forestry complex".
  
  
• For the first time within the frameworks of the Forum a Career Fair will take place, during which meetings and negotiations of potential employers and students of specialized higher education institutions will be organized.
  
  
• Contest program includes the annual national award "Russian forest", the V International forest junior contest established by the Russian Ministry for Natural Resources, branch contest in the field of woodworking – GOLDEN CUTTER
