The 2nd International Forest Summit Interles-Lisino and the 13th International Specialised Exhibition INTERLES will be held on June 23-25, 2010 in the historic center of the Russian forestry – Lisino Forest college (Lisino-Korpus town, Leningrad region, Russian).
The exhibition features a rich range of technologies and equipment for forestry, logging and primary woodworking in the forest. INTERLES is the only Russian exhibition where exhibitors can demonstrate machines and equipment for logging, forest fire extinguishing and forest revitalization works in action in real conditions. The exhibition program includes machines and equipment shows of machines and equipment in action, master classes and presentations which will be held on a specially equipped grounds, traditional Plant a Tree action – forest seedlings planting. The event will be closed with the Iron Lumberjack prize awarding – a sign of recognition of achievements in forestry machines and equipment.
The 2nd International Summit Interles-Lisino organised by the Russian Federal Forestry Agency will be participated by heads and experts of forestry enterprises, unions and associations of the Russian forest industry, foreign investors, the industry research and educational institutions, representatives of the Russian federal agencies.

The INTERLES-LISINO SUMMIT, a very important event for forestry complex,
was held on June 24-27, 2008 at the territory of Lisinsky Forestry College.
The Summit featured an exhibition, rich congress program as well as government
and industry awards ceremonies in the domain of forestry, woodworking,
logging and mechanical engineering. Federal Forestry Agency of the Russian
Federation and RESTEC Exhibition Company with the support of the
Government of Leningrad Oblast were originators of the event.
Interles is the only in Russia demo-event of forestry complex which enjoys
active support of the Federal Forestry Agency of the Russian Federation
which this year has also become the organiser of Summit's congress program.
Due to its new multi-purpose venue with convenient infrastructure, training
and production facilities, demonstration woodlots and also to a rich business
program with participation of leading Russian and foreign forestry experts,
the INTERLES-LISINO SUMMIT has become the new meeting point for all participants
of Russian forest industry. Officials of the subjects of the Russian Federation,
representatives of Russian forestry unions and associations, foreign investors,
representatives of forest management and logging companies, industrial
research and training facilities have gathered for discussion of forestry
complex potential.
Summit was opened by A.I. Savinov, Head of the Federal Forestry Agency
of the Russian Federation; N.P. Churkin, Deputy Chairman of the Federation
Council Committee for Nature Management and Environmental Protection;
M.A. Dedov, Chairman of the Leningrad Oblast Committee for Natural Resources
and Environmental Protection.
In their addresses they again brought relevance of events and objectives
of the industry into focus, emphasized the planned changes in the forest
legislation as well as noted high potential for forest sector development
and intention to expand the exhibition at the chosen venue.
For the first time the Exhibition featured Government Awards Ceremonies.
The Honorary Order of Friendship was awarded to Anatoly Petrov, Provost
of the Russian Institute of Continuous Education in Forestry, Professor.
The Honored Forester of the Russian Federation Award went to: Mikhail
Kobelkov, Director of Rosleszashita Federal State Institution; Vladimir
Kresnov, Director General of the Roslesinforg Federal State Institution;
Marina Aristarkhova, Head of the Sub-Department for Forest Resources Accounting,
Inspection and Reforestation of the Forestry Department of the Administration
of Vladimir Oblast.
The new venue has opened up new possibilities for specialists: conferences,
round table meetings and seminars covering relevant issues of forest industry
were held at the Lisinsky Forest College located in the Lisino-Korpus
town. Among these events was the conference on information support of
federal executive agencies and on quantitative and qualitative features
of Russian forest fund where the main topic for discussion was state forest
inventory and which featured presentation of original methods of state
inventory of Russian forests offered by experts of the Federal Forestry
Agency.
Considerable attention was paid to issues of forest education. Events
program featured the Forest Education and Career Round table meeting which
was dedicated to discussion of issues and search of solutions including
the issue of establishment of continuous education system.
Rich events program of the Summit offered specialists a great opportunity
to discuss issues of forest plan development (within the framework of
the Round Table Meeting: Improvement of forest legislation. Forest plan
of the subject of the Russian Federation: experience, perspectives, problems),
implementation of the model forests program on the territory of the Russian
Federation, issues of forestry sector organisation and use of forests
in the light of new lease relations, application of distant methods of
detection and registration of changes in condition of forests, Scandinavian
forest management technologies and other pressing problems of forestry
complex.
Business Contacts Exchange was especially popular and featured participation
of representatives of regional delegation of Vladimir, Krasnoyarsk, Nizhegordsky
and other Oblasts, leading logging and woodworking companies as well as
Canadian Association of Business Partners.
In 2008 the Exhibition has gathered over 50 exhibitors for Russia, Finland,
Sweden, Germany and USA - leading companies working in the domain of forestry
technologies and equipment, such as Komatsu Forest, Petroscan, John Deere
Forestry, Volvo East, Minitex Forest, Ponsse, V-CRAN, HSM Petersburg,
HUSQVARNA, LOGMAX, QUINTMADI SPB, AVK-AVTO, Podyomnye Mashiny (Lifting
Machinery), Zeppelin Russland, Forest-service, WARATAH, Leskhozsnab and
many others. The Komatsu Forest Company (VALMET) was the General Sponsor
of the Exhibition.
The Exhibition was held outdoors which enabled its participants to demonstrate
operation of their machinery in real conditions. The other outstanding
event of the Exhibition was the model extinguishing of conditional low
fires by air and land forces, from detection to assessment of damage.
Expert Committee of the Annual Iron Lumberjack Industry Award chaired
by Andrey Gosudarev, Chairman of the Board of the Union of Lumbermen of
Leningrad Oblast, has awarded the Grand Prix and diplomas in 5 nominations

OOO, VOLVO EAST ZAO, NORD-WEST CONSTRUCTION COMPANY OOO, AVIALESOKHRANA

The INTERLES-LISINO SUMMIT has become the key venue for serious dialogue

The Annual INTERLES Exhibition of technologies and equipment
for forestry, logging and primary woodworking in the forest will be held
on June 24-27, 2008, at Lisinsky Forest College (Lisino-Korpus town,
Tosnensky District, Leningrad Oblast) in 70 km from St. Petersburg.
For the first time INTERLES will gather not only logging operators and
machinery manufacturers but also other participants of forestry processes:
federal and regional officials, investors, industrial research and educational
establishments.
There is no doubt that this year the INTERLES Exhibition will gain new
birth and will not only change its permanent venue, but will also become
a new large-scale meeting point for all those who participate information
of Russian forest industry.
INTERLES 2008 will feature:
- A state-of-the-art multi-purpose exhibition venue which has
necessary infrastructure, training and production facilities and forest
demonstration sites that create best conditions for running of the Exhibition
on a higher and qualitative level as well as most comfortable atmosphere
for efficient work of exhibitors.
- Demonstration of logging machinery in operation.

On June 6-9, 2007 the 11th INTERLES International Specialized Exhibition
of technologies and equipment for forestry, logging and primary woodworking
in the forest was held in Leningrad Oblast at the 64th km of Scandinavia
Highway (E18). The Exhibition organiser is RESTEC Exhibition Company.
Annually participants from Russia and abroad take part in the Exhibition.
This time the Exhibition united over 55 companies at one exhibition ground.
The exhibitors showcased logging machinery, equipment for forest fire
extinguishing, equipment for primary woodworking in the forest. They visually
showed all advantages of their products to potential customers at the
open ground. Much attention was paid to forestry development and reforestation.
The Exhibition participants and guests were given an opportunity to multiply
forest resources of Leningrad oblast - to plant a plantlet of a pine or
a fir-tree personally.
From year to year the active support for the Exhibition is rendered by
the Federal Forestry Agency of the Ministry for Natural Resources of the
Russian Federation and the Government of Leningrad oblast. V.V. Abramov,
Head of the Forestry Department of the North-Western Federal District,
M.A. Dedov, Chairman of the Committee for Natural Resources and Nature
Conservation of Leningrad oblast, V.A. Saykovsky, President of the Confederation
of Associations and Unions of Forestry, Pulp and Paper, Woodworking and
Furniture Industries Non-Profit Partnership participated in the Exhibition
opening. V.V. Abramov emphasized in his speech at the official Exhibition
opening ceremony that the Exhibition was demonstrating adequate objectives
in equipment and technologies development in the entire spectrum of the
forest fund use and reproduction issues, and also was presenting the perfect
platform for constructive discussion of problems, being in the focus of
forestry experts' attention.
INTERLES is the only Russia's exhibition project, where leading logging
manufacturers demonstrate capacities of their forestry machinery on the
specially equipped demonstration grounds in the forest. John Deere Forestry,
Waratah Forestry Attachments, Ponsse and many other companies took part
in the demonstration events in 2007.
The official INTERLES opening ceremony and the "Iron Lumberjack"
award ceremony were held on 6 June. The Iron Lumberjack Prize is established
by the Organizing Committee, represented by the Office of the Russian
Federation President's Plenipotentiary in the North-Western Federal District,
Federal Forestry Agency of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian
Federation and Restec Exhibition Company. The Prize is a sign of recognition
and evaluation of the forest branch leading companies' achievements.
The Iron Lumberjack prize-winners are chosen by the expert jury, which
consists of delegates from education, science, projecting organizations
of the forest branch, leading forestry enterprises and social institutions.
In 2007 the Iron Lumberjack laureates were: Minitex Les LLC, Industrial
and Trade Company Ugleprom LLC, Barrier 2000 LLC, Forest-Service LLC,
Velikiye Luki Factory LesHozMach OJSC, IlimSIbLesTechno LLC, Waratah Forestry

Avialesokhrana Federal State Institution, Podyemnye Machiny HC.
For visitors and participants of the INTERLES Exhibition the vast congress
program was held consisting of: the discussion on "The use of the
new Forest Code regulations in the operation of logging enterprises of
the Northwest" with the participation of A.B. Gosudarev, Chairman
of the Union of Lumbermen of Leningrad oblast, V.V. Abramov , Head of
the Forestry Department of the North-Western Federal District, M.A. Dedov,
Chairman of the Committee for Natural Resources and Nature Conservation
of Leningrad oblast. In the course of the discussion many issues were
touched upon. Experts explained and discussed the regulations of the new
Forest Code and decentralization of the forest management, forest control
and monitoring. Summarizing the results of the discussion the briefing:
The forestry complex in the light of the Forest Code adoption and the
resolution of the Government of the Russin Federation. Problems and ways
of their solution was held. One of the raised questions was the issue
on the Russian Government policy implementation concerning the round timber
export decrease. The congress programm was also supplemented by round
table discussions, seminars, Business Contacts Exchange.
About 3150 visitors- forestry experts from 12 regions of Russia: Northwest,
Central Region, South of Russia, Volga Region, Ural, and Siberia as well
as from abroad: Ukraine, Belarus Baltic countries, Germany and Finland
visited the INTERLES Exhibition.
