From the exhibition history:

An international conference unified by topics of business incubators, innovative centres and technologies transfer into small business has been held annually since 1990 in St. Petersburg. Over 10 years the conference in St. Petersburg has become the main nation-wide event in Russia and CIS in the field of innovations, development of infrastructure for small business support through business incubators and innovative centres and scientific and technical developments transfer into the sphere of small business.

1996 – the exhibition started being held together with the conference on the initiative of the Ministry of Science of Russia. This event became the first project in this direction and was the ground for re-establishment of scientific and industrial exhibitions in Russia.

1997 – the whole complex of conference events and the exhibition are held under the united name "International exhibition congress "High Technologies. Innovations. Investments" ("Hi-Tech")".

1998 – the framework of the exhibition congress is approved by the Ministry of Science and Technologies of the Russian Federation, the Administration of St. Petersburg, the Russian Academy of Science and leading Russian funds whose activities are directed at assistance to scientific and technological development. In December 1998 the Order of the Governor of St. Petersburg ? 1328-r was issued on 29.12.98, which confirmed the status of the exhibition congress as of an annual event, directed at creation of favourable investment climate and development of industrial and scientific potential in St. Petersburg on the basis of leading modern technologies. Also the exhibition congress was awarded the mark of the Union of Exhibitions and Fairs of Russia in 1998

1999 – "High Technologies. Innovations. Investments" exhibition congress is included into the events plan for realization of agreement between the Ministry of Science and Technologies of the Russian Federation and the Administration of St. Petersburg on collaboration in the field of creation and realization of scientific and technical and innovative policy for 1999 – 2001.

2000 – the exhibition developed into the Week of High Technologies in St. Petersburg. The Program Committee of the exhibition congress was headed by Deputy Prime-Minister of the Government of Russia I.I. Klebanov.

2001 – "High Technologies. Innovations. Investments" exhibition congress was officially included into the program of St. Petersburg Economic Forum as its practical component.

2002 – exhibition congress became an important event not only in Russian scientific circles but also for industry. Industrial enterprises, members of "Aerospace equipment" Corporation, participated in exhibition for the first time.

2003 – St. Petersburg Intellectual property exposition was represented for the first time within the limits of the Week, it attracted public and investors' attention to scientific developments providing for prospective social, economic and cultural development of the city. Results of fundamental and exploratory researches, that demonstrated contribution of St, Petersburg scientists to domestic and global science development, were represented at the exhibition.

2004 – according to participants and guests, 2004 events were highly fruitful, this can be first and foremost explained by efficient collaboration between the Steering Committee of the exhibition congress and the Government of St. PetersburgÁ represented by the Committee for Economic Development and Trade.

In 2006 "High Technologies. Innovations. Investments" exhibition congress was included into the International Forum "Russian Industrialist" for the first time; the forum is traditionally held at "Lenexpo", the best exhibition fairgrounds of St. Petersburg.

In 2007 a specialized topic "Nanotechnologies" was represented for the first tome within the limits of the exhibition. The issues of nanotechnologies development and their prospects for creation of practical materials of new generation were discussed at the topical seminar, its organizer was Research and Development Centre of Applied Nanotechnologies.

In 2008 "High Technologies. Innovations. Investments" exhibition congress was held twice – in March (industrial innovations) and in September (general exhibition).

In 2009 the XV international exhibition congress "High Technologies. Innovations. Investments" became an anniversary event dedicated to centenary of the First Russian exhibition of latest inventions, 20 years of innovation activities and 15th anniversary of the Fund of Assistance for development of small forms of enterprises in scientific and technical field.

Over the years of its "High Technologies. Innovations. Investments" exhibition congress became an efficient link that connects science and manufacturing.
