The Scientific and Technical Council under the Government of St. Petersburg, the Scientific and Research Institute - Republican Research Scientific-Consulting Centre for Expertise (RRSCCE)Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution, the International Strategic Innovation and Technology Alliance and RESTECR Exhibition Company are holding The Best Innovative Project and The Best Scientific and Research Development of The Year' within the framework of St. Petersburg Technical Fair.

The contest's aim consists in stimulating activities of enterprises in the field of innovative technologies, detecting promising innovative projects and developments as well as in assisting their promotion in the domestic and foreign markets.

The contest was set up in 1998 by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the Russian Federation - over the years of its holding more than one thousand developments in different spheres of national economy have been awarded. In the financial environment which is tough for innovative projects many enterprises regard their participation in the contest as the easiest way to present their developments to a broad section of the public concerned.

The following prizes were established by the Organizing Committee for awarding the winners: Grand prizes, special prizes, first class diplomas and Big medals, second class diplomas and Small medals, commemorative diplomas. The awarding ceremony will take place on March 15, 2012 in Lenexpo.
