The red dot presentation in Moscow at FIDEXPO

The Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen annually stages the international "red dot award: product design". It ranks among the largest and most renowned design competitions in the world. The numbers speak for themselves: the red dot design award attracted more than 5,000 submissions from 50 countries in 2005 alone. The award-winning products are put before an international public in the red dot design museum.

Each year an international jury reviews and evaluates the submitted products according to criteria such as degree of innovation, functionality and the formal quality. This ensures the seriousness of the competition and its international acceptance. The group of jurors is made up of renowned designers and design experts from all over the world who reach their decisions on which designs are good enough to receive a red dot award independently and impartially. The constellation changes from year to year and guarantees a high degree of objectivity and reliability. The independence and international composition of the juries have been major factors in establishing the high reputation of the competitions.

The Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen is committed to extend the worldwide visibility of the competition and to establish the red dot design award in numerous parts of the world. For this reason, the award-winning products are shown in many international exhibitions. Among the stopping places of the "red dot on the road" are capital cities such as Tokyo, Sydney, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Singapore.

The presentation of the red dot design award in Moscow is also part of these internationally oriented activities. The red dot design award offers the opportunity to make new contacts, to inspire through new design, to promote the design profession and, last but not least, to do good business.

The exhibition in the famous Gostiny Gvor in Moscow provided an elegant and prestigious setting for showcasing the selection of international products, all honoured with the red dot design award in 2005, and iwas an outstanding opportunity to present award-winning design to a Russian audience.
